Medium and short documentary. Spain/Cuba, 2010

Through three lives and three generations (Rebeca, Massiel and Christian), Distances grapples with the individual’s choice to remain in Cuba, although most loved ones are overseas, and despite having had the opportunity to leave the island. Remaining for love, conviction, by the will to do so, or because others have decided for you. Learning to live as the new person one has become in reaction to the new state of separation from loved ones.
